“Thank You Lord !”

“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, so that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” – Psalm 107:1-8 (KJV)

When the leaves begin to change colors and fall from the trees, we know that another Summer has passed and Winter is just around the corner. But before we jump ahead to Christmas and the New Year, there is something we must do. We must thank our God! All of us should pause to thank Him for He has once again blessed us bountifully.

Crops have been planted, the harvests reaped, and cupboards and pantries again filled with the bountiful blessings to sustain and to see us through the hard and cold season ahead.  If you didn’t plant a crop or reap a harvest, you should still be thankful. You have been given strength to labor and the wages too, so that you can purchase those things necessary. So, let us now give thanks to our God.

We are living in a day when so many in our world give Him no thanks, but rather praise themselves for what they have. But we know the truth don’t we?

“While the world looks upon me as I struggle along. They say I've have nothing, but they are so wrong. In my heart I'm rejoicing, how I wish they could see. Thank you Lord for your blessing on me! There's a roof up above me, I've a good place to sleep There's food on my table and shoes on my feet. You gave me your love Lord and a fine family. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me!”

In this season as we celebrate “thanksgiving”, let us remember to whom we owe our thanks and let’s lead our families in a time of thanking God from whom all blessings flow!
