Glory To God In The Highest!”

Many years ago, messengers from the presence of God announced the arrival of the most important human ever to be born with the words, “Glory to God in the highest.” When John was introducing this special God/man, he said: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1.14) The Word was the incarnate God – Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

While the lost world tries to relegate the Person of Jesus Christ to the ash heap of irrelevance, His very creation cries out for audience. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” (Psalm 19.1) Simply because the world does not acknowledge Him in His full glory, their lack of respect in no way diminishes who He is.

What the world does not realize is that even if every Christian was silenced, His glory would shine forth. “And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19.40b)

Have no fear – true believers first see Christ in all His glory and then are reminded daily of His glory by what He has done. One day, every one will not only see His glory, but will also have to admit that He alone is worthy of praise.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2.9-11)

As we celebrate the birth of Christ during this Christmas season, may we honor Him and praise Him, for He is worthy!
